About Dr. Pawanindra Lal

Dr. Pawanindra Lal is a highly accomplished and globally recognized surgeon with an exceptional career spanning leadership, clinical excellence, academic contributions, and policy advocacy in surgical sciences. He formerly served as the Director Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery at Maulana Azad Medical College (University of Delhi) and Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi, India.

He has held several key leadership positions, including Executive Director and CEO of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, reflecting his influence on postgraduate medical education in India.

Dr. Lal is the President of the International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons, and has served as the President of both the Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of India and the Delhi Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India. He is also the Chairman of the Surgical Sectional Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), India, and a member of the Executive Committee of OSSI and ARIS.
